What is a Spirit Rock?

 The giant boulder located by the Main Entrance is our Spirit Rock. Our Spirit Rock is a wonderful way to publicize birthdays, accomplishments, celebrations, upcoming school events, well-wishes or congratulatory messages. 

• In keeping with the OPES Code of Conduct and Behavior Guidelines, OPES will not allow any bullying, profanity, obscenity or derogatory language. Please refrain from any political or discriminatory remarks. If there is any question to the wording or symbols painted on the rock, we reserve the right to remove/repaint the rock without notice.
• Don’t forget to take pictures of your students with the rock and email them to opespto@gmail.com – we would love to share your pictures on our Website, Facebook & Instagram! 

How do I rent it?

Simply click on the Spirit Rock Reservations button located on the righthand side of our Home Page or click Spirit Rock Reservations underneath the Fundraising Tab of our Home Page. This will bring you to a calendar where you can secure your date and then on to the checkout page, where you will pay. To ensure fairness, only one 24 hour reservation is available per student. Each reservation is $20. Each year we donate a portion of the funds to the Fort Mill Care Center and the remaining are used to support our school community needs in other ways such as ThanksGIVEing and Angel Tree.

How does my reservation work?

You may begin painting the rock as early as 4 p.m. the day BEFORE your scheduled reservation. Reservations are 24 hours.

What supplies will I need?

You will typically need two cans of spray paint for the base coat and additional paint for your design.  For more intricate designs, craft paint, foam brushes and even stencils work great.

Can I hire someone to paint the rock for me?

Sure! If you need recommendations, feel free to email us at opespto@gmail.com or message us on Facebook. 

What if the rock is already reserved on the date I want?

Rock reservations are on a first come, first serve basis. If the date you want is already reserved, choose the next available date, either before or after.  

What if the weather is bad on the day I am scheduled to paint?

Plan accordingly in case of inclement weather. Reservations are final- Rain or Shine. 

There are no summer dates listed for the rock. What can I do?

We now have Birthday Sign Rentals available for summer! You can reserve those by clicking the Birthday Sign Rentals button on the righthand side of our Home Page or underneath our Fundraising tab, also located on the Home Page.
