Lauren Green

Dear Orchard Park, Elementary School Parents, Teachers, and Staff,

What a wonderful school year we have had! Thank you to our teachers, staff, and administration for creating an amazing school experience for our children this year. My name is Lauren Green, and I have had the privilege as acting as your PTO Vice President this school year. I would like to continue my time on the PTOBoard and serve as your PTO President next year. I am a former teacher and I understand the challenges that teachers face every day. As a parent, I understand how critical a teacher’s influence is on a child’s development. It is because of my experience as a teacher, and as a passionate advocate for my children’s education, that I feel I can best serve the PTO as president.

My 1st grader loves his school and I love his school. Isn’t this every parent’s dream? Our teachers are the strength of our school and a very dynamic part of our PTO. As parents and caregivers, we want our teachers to feel that they are appreciated. This year, I have worked on many projects to help give our teachers the resources that they need. A few examples include: raising the dollar amount on the gift cards teachers receive from the PTO to buy classroom supplies in the beginning of the year, I proposed the idea of The Holiday Shoppe to the board and I lead the shop with the help of many wonderful volunteers, and as a result our fundraising exceeded our expectations and we were able to purchase playground balls for all of the classrooms, proposed to the board to increase and helped vote to give each teacher in the building a $500 check to use for classroom materials, supplies and or instruction materials, as well as a very special teacher appreciation week. Let’s continue to do these wonderful things for our teachers and staff!

I am committed to ensuring that the Orchard Park PTO remains strong and that we use our generous donations from parents, family members and sponsors appropriately and effectively to better serve our students and staff. Next year, we will have the opportunity to bring back some of our successful events including Boosterthon, The Holiday Shoppe, The Winter Dance, and The Book Fair. I would also like to see some of our clubs return, as well as the Watch Dog Program. I would also like to improve our communication with parents. Have any ideas or an event you would like to try? Come to a PTO meeting to talk with us or feel free to send us an email so we can hear more. All and any help are appreciated! Parents, you are an important part of the process and I value your voice in your child’s education. I want to hear from you!

Thank you for your commitment to education and to our school. Orchard Park is a shining light, a model of excellence for when a community comes together to support its school. I believe we can take it further. Let us show everyone what the spirit of Eagle Pride is all about.

All the best,

Lauren Green
