Battle of the Books is a national reading program designed to motivate, excite, and challenge young readers of all levels. Rising 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will read assigned books over the summer and early fall and then gather with their team for a handful of before-school practices. This enrichment program culminates with each team competing against one another at the annual OPES Battle of the Books held in mid-November. Parents are invited to attend this fun competition. Students in these rising grades have an opportunity to sign up for this club in the spring.
